Code Junkie: Boysenberries

Jammin!

Anyone who loves boysenberries knows the magic berries originate from California.  Why then, is this deliciously jammable compound fruit not in the code?

Well it is in the code.  Just not the California code.

Another Leg Completed

Who put the finish line so far away?

Who put the finish line so far away?

Well, if I was running a marathon I’d be on mile 21.  Does it get easier from here or harder?  I feel close enough to picture myself finished, but maybe it’s too soon.  Is that what is making it so hard?

This is of course the only kind of marathon I’ll be running.  Not sure I could stay away from the internet long enough to finish a real one.  Oh! You think it’s because I “couldn’t” finish a real one?  Chose your words carefully friend.  My mouse hand is strong and I always get paid on time.  You dig?

Now get back to work!

Google's Taking a Breather

Google's Taking a Breather

UPDATE: Need an Invite?  I got’em, just leave a comment with an idea you could use some research collaboration on.  Be sure to leave a gmail address where I can send the invite.

We are in folks.  I was invited to Google Wave.  Google knows how useful this tool would be to us buffs.  I’ll hand out invites as I get them.  If your interested, post a comment with an idea you could use some research collaboration.

Already on Google Wave?  Add me because we all could use more friends, it’s a big lonely ocean.  Wave name after the jump, although you can probably already guess.

Exams: Ugggh

Is this the room for laptop test takers?

Is this the room for laptop test takers?

Not quite as bad as the picture suggests, but still something I am not looking forward to.  Exam time means I need to slow down on my postings so I may concentrate on studying.  I know you’ve come to expect around the clock updates  , but the delay won’t be for long.

Would I do that to you?

Research Tools: IE8 Custom Search Provider

and Everything.

and Everything.

There are plenty of people who hate Microsoft Internet Explorer, but I am not one of them.  I prefer it to Firefox, and Google Chrome.  Maybe you’re one of those people, but here’s another reason not to be.

You can add a list of things to Internet Explorer 8 from here, but the real magic is a little deeper.  Do you have a site you search frequently, but they haven’t yet created a handy little search tool for you to use?  Have no fear, IE8 is here.

IE8 gives you the ability to easily add your own custom search to IE8.  I promise.  You don’t have to know how to write code, or crack software, or risk sites with popups.  All you have to do is go here http://www.ieaddons.com/en/createsearch.aspx.

Search for TEST anywhere you like and copy and paste the results URL into the appropriate box.  Give it a name, and cross your fingers.  It should work.

It worked for me here here and now searching California Code is a snap.

It worked through the Westlaw citation search and now I can enter the appropriate citation and get Westlaw results in an instant.

It did not work with West’s Black’s Law Dictionary on the other hand.

2 out of 3 Not bad.

Enjoy.
